DRS4D nxt power supply

I read this note on the Furuno site:

"PSU017 is required for the DRS4D when used with all NavNet TZtouch, TZtouch2 and TZtouch3 MFD’s" (located on this page: https://furunousa.com/en/support/TZT12F)

This appears to apply to the DRS4D NXT.

I originally understood (or misunderstood as the case may be) that the DRS4D NXT dome could connect directly to shipboard 12v.

Is that not the case?

Hello Patch,

PSU017 is required with a DRS4D (older dome) when used with TZT1/TZT2/TZT3 because it requires 48V. The DRS4D-NXT does not need a PSU017 because it's compatible with 12-24VDC.

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to get confirmation on radar compatibility with TZT12F

I have a NavNet 3D MFD12 plotter that I am planning to replace with a TZT12F. The MFD12 uses a DRS4D (might be a DRS2D) Radar that works fine. It's roughly 2010 vintage, not NXT as far as I can tell. I'm trying to find out if it is compatible with the TZT12F. If it's just the need for the PSU017, that's good news. I haven't been able to find confirmation in the manual yet.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

It will work just fine, but does require a psu-017 or psu-012.

You will need to update the software on the radar before switching.
