The "NXT Big Thing" In Radar Comes In A Small, Powerful Package... The DRS2DNXT

Our latest addition to the growing NXT Solid-State Radar family, the DRS2DNXT, will make its public debut this week at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. We want to provide you with details on this compact yet powerful Radar. The DRS2DNXT will be compatible with all generations of NavNet TZtouch systems, including TZtouch3, TZtouch2, and even first-generation TZtouch MFDs. Current and new TZtouch customers, especially those with limited space, will be excited to learn this new Radar encompasses all the advanced Solid-State Doppler features that make our NXT Radars a must-have. The DRS2DNXT delivers all the same capabilities as the larger NXT Radars, but does so while housed in a compact 19" Radome, making it the perfect solution for smaller vessels or those desiring a backup Radar with the same features their larger Radar provides.

DRS2DNXT uses the same field-proven transceiver as the multi-award-winning DRS4DNXT, delivering powerful Solid-State Doppler Radar performance and a 48 nautical mile range. All the same modes and features that are hallmarks of the NXT series will be available, including Target Analyzer™, RezBoost beam sharpening, FTT (Fast Target Tracking), Bird Mode, Rain Mode, and dual-range capability. The DRS2DNXT's smaller antenna creates a wider beamwidth, which may display far-off targets as elongated echoes. RezBoost beam sharpening processes the returned targets, achieving equivalent resolutions of larger antenna arrays. Bird Mode automatically adjusts the Radar gain and clutter to detect flocks or even individual birds as they're feeding on baitfish. Knowing where the birds gather is just one tool that fishermen use to get on the fish, and NXT series Radars automatically make those adjustments.

With the Auto Acquire feature, targets in a 3 NM range are instantly acquired and tracked automatically. The DRS2DNXT can track up to 100 ARPA targets simultaneously: 40 auto-acquired targets, 30 manually acquired targets, and up to 30 targets within an operator-created guard zone. Fast Target Tracking means acquiring and tracking targets is instantaneous.

These unique features can be used together, providing the ultimate in utility, boating safety, and situational awareness. For example, enabling Rain Mode paints areas of precipitation in blue. With Target Analyzer™ enabled, targets masked within rain that are approaching your vessel at speeds greater than 3 knots are displayed in red. This combination of features allows you to easily pick out hazardous targets within the squall.
