DRS25ANXT6 not enough gain.

I have a new boat with a new DRS25ANXT6 on it. When I go to manual gain and set the gain to 100% I don't get any noise on the screen. I'm used to having the screen covered with noise. As an example the boat I just sold had a DRS12ANXT4 radar and I had no problem setting the gain to 100% and filling the screen with noise. I have set the sea return and the rain setting to zero. I have tried turning the interference rejection both on and off. It appears that I don't have enough gain. Any help you can give me would be great.

I also have a DRS25A-NXT with 6 foot array. If I set gain, sea state, and rain to manual and set sea state and rain to zero, I see significant speckling noise develop as the gain goes over about 80. It is pretty similar to what I saw when I had a 12kW Furuno magnetron radar.

Have you tried that old standby of resetting the radar to factory default?

What range are you set to when you are seeing the absence of noise with gain at 100?

I took a screenshot on my boat to show you the noise I see at 90 gain setting with sea and rain filters off. There was a heavy rain shower nearby which is all the red.
