Drop point after measuring

I want to drop a mark after/while using the measure feature, is there a way to do this?

IE: I measured 200ft at 30 deg from boat i want to mark where i measured to from boat. I use this to mark where i want to drop my Anchor when wreck fishing.

For what you are trying to do; measure (Distance) feature isn't the right method. What you want to do just just create a waypoint anywhere on your screen near the boat. Select that waypoint and hit "MOVE" as you move that waypoint it will show you the distance from the boat as you move it around. If you are trying to do something not related to the boat then it might not be as helpful. You can not drop a point while using the measure tool at the same time.
