Is it possible to disable radar dome while not in use(daytime).

I am sure there are several ways short of disconnecting the scanner cable. The radar doesn't go into transmit by accident. It takes a two step button push. If you are worried about someone transmitting it, you can always put the radar into radar simulation. The if someone transmits the radar it will only show simulated data and the radar will not transmit, until you decide to change the radar back to "Live" mode.

I should have given a little more info.
The radar isn't transmitting, it's just always running. By running I mean that the motor is turning the wochamacallit inside the dome even when looking at the sounder or plotter. I would like to be able to shut it down completely as we only use the radar either very early in the morning or evening and not very often during the day.

So when you take the radar from transmit to standby the radar is continuing to turn?
