Hi,
Navnet Vx2 RDP148 with DFF1 & FURUNO 525TID-TMD 1KW 50/200 TRANSOM MOUNT TRANSDUCER
Is this transducer suitable? What would be the equivalent in Thru hull?
Thanks.

I take it that the MB1100 is not needed with these?
Thanks for your invaluable help, once again Johnny.

BTW, is it damaging to the sounder module to have it powered up without a transducer attached? I believe you shouldn't have them powered up with the transd. out of the water
as well?

When the part number ends in "D" it has the required 10 pin connection and does NOT require the MB1100 matching box. The matching box is for non-diplexed transducers which have no connector. (just open wires)

It is okay to run the unit without the transducer connected. (there is a protection circuit)
You should NEVER connect or disconnect cables with power applied. Rather than remove the transducer, it is possible to change the transmission setting to OFF inside the sounder menu, if you need. As a general rule, you should not transmit transducers in the air especially for 1kW and above.

Thanks Johnny- good to know.

Does the FURUNO 525TPWD 525T-PWD with temp provide bottom discrimination with the DFF1?
Table does not include the DFF1, but includes the FCV series.

The normal DFF1 does not support bottom discrimination as a feature. Any sounder like the BBDS1 that does, would not be supported with the NavNet 1 or Vx2 series.
