Can someone provide the proper jumper settings and tap settings for the DFF3 with a R109C LH thru hull transducer? I have a TZT2 system.

Thanks Tom

Hello Tom,

The tap settings for a R109C LH transducer with a DFF3 is TAP B (LOW) TAP B (HIGH)

I finally got my units and am trying to wire the transducer to the DFF3 and still have some questions.

R109-LH Transducer has the following wires:
* Low (+) Depth = Blue/White
* Bare Shield
* Low (-) depth = Black/White
* High (+) Depth = Blue
* Bare Shield
* Temp = White
* Bare Shield
* Temp, XIDT Ground = Brown
* XIDT = Orange
* Bare Shield

DFF3 has the following:
* P7 (TD_HF) P6 (TD_LF) Same Descriptions
1 = Hot
2 = GND
3 = Cold
4 = N.C.
5 = TDID
6 = GND
7 = Temp

What wire goes where? I first was trying to follow the instructions to test the temp on the R109 so I hooked up the White Wire to #7 (HF) and the Brown Wire to #6 (HF) no temp was shown?

To hook up balance do I hook up Low (+) to #1 on P6 and Low (-) on #2. #3 & #4 do not use? Hook Orange to #5 (on HF or LF) does it matter which one? Hook up Temp (-) to #6 and Temp (+) to #7 Does it matter which one HF or LF? Where do I hook up the shield wires? I assume I need to strip back cable to expose ground shield and clamp to DFF3.

CQuestII,

This is how you need to wire the R109C-LH Transducer to the DFF3 Module:

Low Frequency R109C-LH Blue/White wire to DFF3 on Pin 1 located on J6 Terminal
R109C-LH Black White wire to DFF3 on Pin 3 located on J6 Terminal

High Frequency R109C-LH Blue wire to DFF3 on Pin 1 located on J7 Terminal
R109C-LH Black wire to DFF3 on Pin 3 located on J7 Terminal

R109C-LH Temp Wiring R109C-LH Brown wire to DFF3 on Pin 6 located on J6 Terminal R109C-LH White wire to DFF3 Pin 7 located on J6 Terminal

You do not connect the Orange TDID Wire. :noway
However, you do need to connect all the transducer's shield wires together and then ground them to the DFF3's case. (connecting them to DFF3's cable clamp is okay..)

Hope this information is helpful..? :wink7

Thank You very much. One thing that maybe beneficial in mentioning is I was trying to get test that the temp sensor was working as asked in the instructions provided with the R109. I finally found under the Fish finder settings that it defaults to temperature port you have 3 options, Temp, High and Low.

Thanks again. :respect
