Can I connect a DFF1-UHD black box sounder directly to a computer running MaxSea software and have full control and display for the Sounder without the use of a Furuno display?

I have not purchased the software or the sounder yet. I am making a purchase decision and may purchase a chirp sounder if I can run it with a pc and the appropriate MaxSea software.

Hi Bruce,
yes you can use the DFF1-UHD directly with MaxSea TZ what you need is the optional Sounder module for MaxSea. Then you can connect the DFF1-UHD via network with MaxSea.

Do you know if I need a HUB or can I connect directly from the black box sounder to my laptop?

You can direct connect with a cross over network cable.
