DFF1-UHD Issues

I have a DFF1-UHD networked with a TZT14 and a pair of B175 transducers (HF-LF). When I power the system up the bottom finder works normally and then it will start to slowly lose power. The bottom will start to grow faint and I can turn up the gain to 100 and it has no effect. I will eventually lose the bottom and not be able to read anything. It does this in both high frequency and low frequency. The only way I have been able to fix this is to disconnect the power from the DFF1. Once I disconnect the power and then reconnect it the unit works flawlessly for the remainder of the day. Any idea what may be causing this? When it works I am extremely happy with the performance, it is just a pain to always have to crawl under the console to disconnect the power.

Zundels,
I am curious to get a few more details.
Does this happen 100% of the time or only sometimes? When it fades away, does it happen after 5mins, 30 mins, 1 hr or it will vary? Also are you using an Auto TX Rate?

It doesn't always happen but seems to be happening more frequently. It will usually take about 30 min to an hour to fade out. It will eventually get to where I am just showing a thin line for the bottom and no other details. When I unplug and then replug the power the screen will look normal work properly. I usually set the TX rate on 20 (I think this is the highest setting). The TX rate does not seem to make any difference once the unit starts to fade/lose power. Gain doesn't make much difference either; I can put the gain up to 100 and still barely read bottom and have very little clutter on the screen. Once I unplug/replug the power, I have to back the gain off to a normal setting.

Zundels,
Thanks for the additional information.
Probably best to send it in so we can run it on the bench for a while to see if we can find what is happening. If you let me know the serial number I will let the service department know the background and what to look for.

I will probably wait until this fall to send it in (don't want to be without it for the next few weeks). I will get the serial number and reply to this thread before I send it.

It looks like we are going to send it in a little earlier than I thought (We are sending it with the TZT14 which is having a separate issue). The serial number for the DFF1-UHD is 8861-0726. Please let the service department know what to look for and I will be putting a letter in with the units as well.

Zundels,
OK, I will let them know it will be coming in.
