I have a tztouch2 , Dff1-uhd,with B275lhw transducer. trying to dial in my unit, need help.
Any advise on TVG, cluter, etc .. to maximize the unit for Tuna, and rockfish.
Thanks.

Fishray,
I wish I could say set your Gain at "X", Clutter at "Y", TVG at "Z" and life will be good. For me I don't adjust the TVG, I leave at the default setting (5). However if you want to see the affect it has, go out into water that is deeper than 200ft and adjust it from 1 to 9 to see what happens. A couple settings that I also don't adjust are the screen advance (I like 1/1) and TX Rate (Manual 20). So the settings I adjust are Range, Gain and Clutter. Range is pretty straight forward so that leaves Gain and Clutter. These two setting go hand in hand i.e. the more Gain the more Clutter. Also a big factor in the Clutter is the color of the water. The greener the water the more Clutter you will see. I don't mind seeing Clutter so it doesn't bother me but to some operators it does. They start to see Clutter appearing and the turn the Gain down and wonder why they aren't seeing fish targets. For me I will start with the Clutter at 0 and turn the Gain up until I fill the range up with speckle (Clutter). I also look at both frequencies when I am out. I will leave the Clutter at 0 until I start to see fish targets, once I see targets I will start increasing the Clutter setting to help eliminate the speckle but still display my fish targets. Hope this helps.

I was in a situation last week, when I was in the middle of crashing birds. A lot of dolphins, and about 8 whales.
I could see the dolphins under my boat. My screen was completely full, but I couldn’t tell the bait from the dolphins?
My range was set at 0-80 feet. Any suggestions?

Fishray,
So it sounds like you were seeing to much instead of not enough. The best thing to do is to take a screen shot and let me know what your settings were. This will allow me to advise you better on what controls to adjust. Below is what Sea Bass can look like in a similar depth of water.

Hi Snips, can you tell me or send pics of what Tuna should look like. I was fishing in deep water yesterday. I had my gain up, on both frequency, range 0-200, some boaters around me were saying they are metering Tuna , but I didn't see anything. ???? Thanks for your help.

Fishray,
Below are a couple screen shots of scattered Tuna in the GOM.
