Dff-3d vs Fcv588

Fcv 588 show much fish, Dff-3d does not. The Dff-3d fish alarm alerts continously that there is fish, but no (hardly no) fish on the screen.

Is this normal? (Attached pictures made at same time)

Two totally different types of devices and presentation. The DFF3D is showing some targets near the bottom but I don't particularly like how that bottom looks wavy at both edges. This is normally a sign that the transducer was mounted backwards. Do you have any other photos of the DFF3 running normal operations?

You really would compare the sounder screen on the DFF3D with the sounder screen on the 588. They probably both show the same thing.
I think fish alarms are a gimmick. The wavy bottom could also be caused by a lack of heave compensation or misconfigured sat compass settings. The 3rd picture you like is more to augment a sounder view rather than gamify fish finding.

The DFF3 wide beam tends to mute the size of items a bit. I agree with that it is likely heaving if that isn't all the time. If the edges are like that all the time, you might want to try using the flip setting to flip the transducer.
