Depth reading

Need some help with my tz touch 2. I loose bottom readings over 700 ft deep. I don’t know if it’s settings or transducer. Anyway to diagnose? Have a tm260 or tm 258 transducer

At that depth, you should be running LF. Do you have photos of what it looks like running LF at that depth? LF on either of those should be able to read bottom unless getting turbulence or the transducer has been fouled. Have you checked it for marine growth? If it is clean, then next step would be to have someone put a transducer tester on it.

No growth on the transducer. Is there a model number on the transducer I can validate i have selected the correct setting in the system? also when you state LF im assuming that is Low Frequency and would be curious the steps to take to ensure that "is" selected...

other question would be is it out of question to believe that this system will read the bottom in 700-1400 ft deep???

I would only guess that being that you don't know how to switch frequencies, that it might be operational error. The TM260 is rated to best case 1000 ft using HF (Yes, High Frequency) https://www.airmar.com/bottom-calculator?refid=TM260
The best case theory and real life tends to be different and if the HF being lost below 700ft would be pretty typical. The Low Freq is rated to 2500ft and really should have no issues getting to over 2000ft. The operations manual can be found at the following link. https://www.furunousa.com/-/media/s...anuals/tzt9f_12f_16f_19f_operators_manual.pdf
Chapter 7 covers the sounder operations with 7-2 and 7-3 explaining dual and single frequency operations.
