Connecting TZT9F to TZT2BB

I am upgrading from an MFDBB / MFD8 system to a TZT2BB / TZT9F.

The TZT2BB has been installed for some time and works really well.
Just installed the TZT9F and am having problems.

The only connection between the two is the Furuno 172.XXX.XXX.XXX network.
Radar and sounder data is coming through fine, but I am having problems with position, COG/SOG and HDG as well as AIS.

The TZT9F can see the various data sources feeding the TZT2BB, but no data seems to come through or it is intermittent.
There is no AIS.

Do I need to connect the TZT9F to the NMEA2k network to get at this data or is there some setting that I have missed?
The TZT9F is a cabin repeater and would need a new N2K cable run if that's the fix.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you need both Ethernet and NMEA 2000 connections to each display/processor on the network. The only exception is that none have a 2000 connection. It is all or none when it comes to the MFDs and the NMEA 2000 network.

Thanks Johnny!

NMEA2k cable and connectors are ordered.
It's going to be an ugly cable run, but your response is clear - it needs to be done.

Thanks again

Just to close this one out . . .

Connected the TZT9F into the NMEA2k network and everything is working perfectly.
The wiring run was pretty ugly, but all done now.
