I have FA-170 AIS and Radar FR8062 on board
I connected directly AIS output Port 1 to the radar NMEA 1 Port on the radar but I cannot get AIS symbols on the radar.
The radar detects the presence of AIS signal but no AIS detail is activated on the radar screen.
Is there anything I have not done?

Many thanks, I do not have the Furuno interface IF1500AIS on board.
I will procure and configure as per the attached schematic.
I will revert with feedback when this is done.

The IF1500AIS is no longer manufactured. Your best option would be trying to source it on the used marketplace like eBay.

Can the NMEA Port 1 on Radar 8062 be connected to more than one NMEA source at same time. Eg GPS, Echo Sounder and Wind Sensor the same time?
Since the NMEA Port 2 will be connected to AIS
What do you advice.

Dear Sir
Thank you for your response. I was able to source the Interface IF1500AIS from the open market to connect between FA170 and FR8062.
The interface is working and I can see AIS symbols on the Radar Screen.
However I have a little challenge. The AIS Symbols are displaced from the actual target echo by about 30 degrees.
The AIS Symbols/target are not synchronized with the target echo on same spot.
How can I solve this problem.

The first and most important setting is the RADAR heading ADJUSTMENT aligning with the bow. Do this Heading Adjustment per the Installation Manual paragraph labeled HEADING ALIGNMENT in section 3.

If the heading alignment good, next is to check the validity of the heading readout at the top of the screen. This is the heading readout from the connected heading sensor connected to the HDG port on the rear of the unit. Heading and heading only is to be inputted on the HDG port. This is direct from the heading sensor, if it is wrong troubleshoot it at the source (heading sensor or Sat compass).

These two settings have to jive for the RADAR display to be properly stabilized (RADAR echoes and the heading aligned).

Thank you. I check and correct ASAP and revert.

Dear Sir,
Thank you. the problem has been resolved. The heading alignment of the Radar was good but the heading sensor was giving wrong output. A new heading sensor was procured.
Both the Radar echo and the AIS symbols are now synchronized at same spot.
Another Question
Can two or more FA8062 Radars be connected to the AIS Interface IF1500AIS.
I await your response.
Thanks

Dear Sir
The Satellite Compass SC702 onboard is less actual heading compared with other ships by 11 degrees.
Please I want to correct this error.
I need the PASSWORD to access the menu to make this correction.
I await your response.
Kind regards
Engr Max
