Looking for best 2-3kw transducer recommendations for bottom fishing in water over 1000 fathoms. It will be installed on a steel boat so prefer its stainless steel or some other none electrolysis produce material.

DuganD,
Thank you for your inquiry. Proper recommendation & selection of a transducer is difficult without knowing ALL of the particulars of the installation and expected use by the particular customer.
For example; the steel hull vessel you mentioned; a 30+knt sportfisher, or is it a 8+knt commercial fishing vessel. All of these factors (& more) will ultimately determine which transducer is "best" for your particular needs & your particular vessel.
That being said you may look at the Furuno CA38BL-15HR transducer. A high power (3kw), fairly low frequency at 38khz, and a directional beam of 12.5 x 21 degrees.

It’s a 50’ steel commercial boat 6-10 knots of speed. Need super deep bottom reading capability as I do a lot of black cod long lining of the continental shelf but also fish salmon and albacore tuna as well so need to see those as well. I am not against a $3500 transducer but would prefer a couple cheaper ones if possible. As well as ease of installation if I have to spend a couple grand to mount transducer in the hull. I would prefer a thru hull if there is a some 2-3kw ones that will work if not we can recess them in the hull just more expensive. I would also like to know if the existing 1kw airman SS260 will be compatible with dff3 thanks

DuganD,
Most of the SS-260's today are diplexed (two wires). If you can find a non-diplexed SS-260 (four wires) you could use it with the DFF3. However it is not going to meet your needs i.e. 1000 fathoms. Frequency = depth, meaning the lower the frequency the deeper the performance. If 1000 fathoms is the goal, I would look at the CA28BL-12HR. Now you also mentioned Tuna and Salmon which is a more shallower fishery. For Tuna I think a wider 50Khz transducer works better and for Salmon a like a wide 200Khz. So it comes down what you spend to most time fishing for.
