AP/Steering for single Merc 300 V8

I’m in the process of building a single engine 25 foot center consul with a 300 mercury V8. Is there any reason why the following auto pilot, pump, hydraulic steering system would not work on a 12 V system?

The typical pumps you're going to find work well with our NAVPILOT 300 are listed under the "Accessories" tab on our product page: https://furunousa.com/en/support/NAVPIL ... ccessories

For all other steering systems out there in existence, we'd have to know if it accepts basic Drive-By-Wire commands or whether or not it can interface with some type of NMEA2000 like CAN BUS.

Hope this clarifies, :sail

I can't say if that steering cyl is large enough for the engines and defer to the engine or cylinder company. Normally I check if the pump size is proper for the cylinder volume. Looking up the UC130-SVS-1 online it seems no one really says how many cubic inches it is. You running just one of these? Do you know the cubes?

To clarify, The motor is not the verado steering (AMS) model. It is CMS, manual steering.

UFLEX brochure says its just under 8 CI. And it supports the Merc 300 V8. It looks like they will work but Im wondering if I’m missing something.

Is either pump preferred for this application? The piston pump is adjustable but the gear pump is not. Thanks again for your input.

So the gear pump is listed, that’s good. Still wondering about the piston pump, Model 1012-15CI

The Octopus PUMPOCT10-12 pumps are going to be the least headache for a Furuno AP, IMHO and they're pretty quiet.
