Another Request for Software Update ETA

Japan says it will be about 45 days from now before the next TZT2 software release. It has been delayed due to development of the new TZT2BB which will work directly into the TZT2 product line.
Looks like it should come out sometime next week. They are hoping for Tuesday.

Where will the release be announced?
Dealers will receive a bulletin but end users will see a post under "NEWS" on this forum, while the software and instructions will show up under the "Software" tab of the product page.
6.01 has been held up to investigate a sounder complaint by one of the beta testers. If you are really wanting to get started with it, you might consider contacting our tech support and tell them you are also willing to beta test.
No, there is no list because 6.01 hasn't been officially released, at least not here in the US. Neither of those two items will change with 6.01.
5.06 is a small change to 5.03 and has been added to new shipping units. We had expected 6.01 software by now but a minor problem was found it with that has prevented it's release. Japan says they are very near the next revision, so Furuno USA will most likely not release 6.01 and wait to release this next newer version. There is very little difference between 5.03 and 5.06 but if you are a US customer, you can contact support directly and I am sure they can provide you that update.

I seem to recall that when GARMIN changed Active Captain last Spring and the TZT2 ability to update AC via Wifi was lost, the FURUNO response was that the ability would be restored before the end of the year. In your response above you indicate that the stalled release of 6.01 will NOT include AC ability. That is a disappointment.
I may be seeing ghosts behind tombstones, but the continuing delay of 6.01, the reneging on AC ability, and the recent official $ discounts on TZT2 devices seem to auger for an impending release of a newer replacement product.
Are we with TZT2 going to be orphans?

First off there has never been a time given for when the Active Captain to be restored. We are at the mercy of Garmin and Japan to hammer out the required changes. Hopefully it will be sooner than later. We are being told that we will have new TZT2 software at the end of January. Furuno USA is skipping the release of 6.01 and should release this newer software the first week of Feb. If you have a special need, please contact technical support because we do have 5.06 and 6.01 as a case by case. There are many new software changes coming, which I can not discuss. I can tell you it will not include an Active Captain update.
