7" vx2 screen swap

Hello I'm doing a screen swap between a couple 7" vx2 displays. I'm wondering if there is a secret tip, trick anything you can tell me about re plugging in the tiny flat ribbon cables. It is not wanting to plug back in and damaging the ribbon.

My second question is do you have any sources or can you point me in the direction to buy replacements for these ribbon cable.

surface mount ribbon cables can be tricky. Just be careful not to break the fasteners on the board because the boards are expensive. With some the fasteners hinge up and the cable inserted and then they hinge back down. Others they slide outwards to release then the cable inserted and you side the hold down back in. Not something normally done by end users. In regards to the cable(s), normally any Furuno dealer can order what you need. You might need to provide the board number it is for and a photo or two so they can make sure to get the right one.

Are there any part numbers associated with those cables. We are a Furuno dealer but not sure how i would go about ordering them as I do not have a master catalog of sorts with parts like that. Any info is helpful. Thanks agian.

I would recommend logging in with your dealer account and looking at the expanded view of the display to locate the cable you need and get the part number from that. If you have problems finding it, contact technical support. Once you have a part number it can be ordered with order services.
