587 and ca50b-6g

I have a 587 hooked up to a CA50B-6G transducer. it marks fish good in the first 60 fathoms or so but struggles in the deeper water column. say 80-120 fathoms.I dont care about the bottom just want to mark fish. any advice on settings would be helpful.

Thank you for your settings.
I think spending a little time at the dock using the Demo may benefit you. Here you can vary the screen advance, TVG, Clutter, Color erase and IR to see how each can affect the targets. Below are your settings vs the default.
