new to the forum so bare with me. installed 2 new tztouch 2 12" displays and was told to use the airmar 525 stid msd it does not read accurately as i have compared with other boats neaxt to me. it was installed on the centerline by a boat works yard . the readings are all over the place from 0 -1273' in the same spot.
our boat is a cruiser not fishiher any advice? thanks

Havanajoe,
Does it do this at the dock or under way? Are you using the Auto Range function? If so turn it off just to see if that stabilizes the range.

Hi Snips,
I'm trying to piggyback on this thread, as I have a similar problem with an Airmar 31-289-3-01 or B744v transducer. I just upgraded to the tztouch2 12" and I cannot seem to get any readings over 8 knots. I will try the setting you suggested but are there other settings that I should be concerned about?
Dugout.

sorry i was away, but the numerical readings do not match the actual graphics either underway or at the dock i had set an offset and they matched then once i moved the boa it changed.
i called airmar and they blamed it on Furunos software which is up to date.
any ideas? thanks

Havanjoe,
I guess I don't understand your question. Do you have any screen shots you can post so maybe I can understand better?

Dhenrikson,
If this is speed related it is probably turbulence. Do both 50 and 200khz have a good display at the dock? As you increase speed does 50Khz start giving you gaps in the bottom? As you increase speed more, do the gaps increase on 50khz then start to appear on 200Khz?

snips, i dont have a shot of my plotter but ill use this one as reference . the depth numerical lower left does not match the actual bottom (graphic in red) line, not sure of the terminology even after setting the offset it returned to being different. when i really need it say 3' and less all i get are dashes. hope this explains my problem. actually now that i look at the pic the numbers dont match in this example either am i missing something easy here?

Havanjoe,
The 3' red line at the top on the sounder display appears because TZT2 has a 3' draft offset, this can be changed in the sounder menu. In your screen shot, the digital depth in the lower left hand corner is actually very close to the correct depth as far as I can see. I am a little confused because your mark at 17.7ft isn't shown so it appears that you changed ranges before your took the screen shot, correct? Below is a screen shot from my TZT2. Hope this helps.

i was using that pic as an example it was not my display i will take a shot and try to explain it better thanks fr your time.

Havanajoe,
The little (K) by the digital depth in the lower left corner means the depth has a keel offset applied. Your screen shot is showing roughly a 5ft difference. I was able to duplicate the same on my unit. The actual depth should be 17.2ft but when the keel offset is applied the depth appears as 12.2ft.
