3rd party switch to HUB101....won’t connect

Is a switch connected to the HUB101 supposed to have a specific static IP?

Am trying to connect my boat’s LAN switch to the HUB101 so the the IP Cams (needing PoE) can be shown on my TFTL15F MFDs, also the Fusion Apollo radios.

I’ve configured the cam with IP 172.31.200.3, as instructed. And I’ve assigned an IP to the LAN switch: 172.31.3.51 just so it is on the same IP net. My PC is on the LAN with IP 172.31.3.50, as instructed.

have connected a switch port to the HUB101, but no new devices appear in the MFD’s Sensor List.

The MFDs are not ‘seeing’ the LAN switch thru the HUB101, and things connected to the LAN switch.

Should this work if everything is on 172.31.x.x?

Thanks,
Mark

Normal hub/switches have no IP address to set. It sounds like you are using a router. You can not use a router with the TZT2. You need a basic hub/switch.

Turns out the ethernet cable was bad. It is a switch, my main boat LAN switch (PoE avail on all ports, if requested). Anyway, it’s all working now, my two test IP cameras are feeding thru the LAN switch to the HUB101 then appear on the two MFDs.

Turns out the switch HAS an IP, used to adjust its setting via a PC & browser, but it’s a 192.168.x.x IP independent of the Furuno LAN that resides at 172.31.x.x

Thanks,
Mark
