300 vs 711c

Hi,

I'm having a hard time understanding what the difference between these two is. I can see one has a knob and one doesn't, and it seems (?) that the 300 is a display and controller integrated into one unit (?).

I have a 38' twin diesel express w/a single 167cc hydraulic cylinder. It is currently set up w/a Simrad AC12 & RPU80 pump. The pump is fine and I would hope to reuse it.

OK, not sure what made me think the 300 was an integral controller but can see now that it is not...so forget that question.

Some of the Differences with the NavPilot 300/711C are..

NavPilot 300 has a Bluetooth remote with it, smaller than the 711c, can handle 20 amps for 5 seconds and 10 amps continuously, meant for smaller consoles and not with bigger pumps. The Bigger pumps would smoke it.

NavPilot 711C does not have the Bluetooth remote, can do 25 amps continuously and 50 amps for 5 seconds, has a sailboat mode, solenoid drive, clutch output, for bigger pumps and boats

Hope this helps! :D

Thanks for the reply.

You say 'bigger boats'. I guess I would say I have a bigger boat but the smaller pump (RPU80, which draws 6.5A max) is able to go lock to lock on the cylinder in about 11s, which is just about spot on Simrad's recommendation of 10s...so do I really lose anything by going w/the 300? Higher current, sailboat mode, solenoid drive, clutch output are all useless to me.

So is it really bigger boats that need the 711c or just boats that require bigger pumps and/or those other features? I would expect a 38' triple outboard boat to require a bigger pump even though it is likely smaller in displacement than my boat.

Also, I notice that w/the 711c there is a corepack available with a fluxgate sensor and buying the corepack saves significant money over buying the individual components. However, I would plan on using the SCX20 instead of the fluxgate. Is there any way to swap out the fluxgate for the scx and still get the corepack savings?

With everything you are telling me I would say go with the NavPilot 300. It would save you money, you can order it without the fluxgate and get the SCX20 like you plan, it can run with your pump perfectly so you wouldn't have to upgrade that or anything, and you get the remote with it.

Now if you did decide to go with the 711C it can still run the pump you have just fine but in order to switch out the fluxgate with the SCX20 you would have to talk to your local dealer. They are the ones who could do the switch for you.
