2010 VX2 transducer

I purchased boat with the VX 2. No radar. Sonar worked well but GPS antenna was corroded. Replaced antenna. GPS works well but now no Sonar. Antenna tech mentioned testing the GPS on trailer. Could air pinging the transducer damage it while on trailer? Are there replacement transducers for such an older model?

The Vx2 has no internal sounder. What sounder model are you using with the Vx2?
Transmitting out of the water is never recommended as it can damage the transducer. In general the 600w transducer can run for a very long time and normally see no negative effects. The larger 1KW and above transducer get hot out of the water and can't run as long before damage might occur. When you find the sounder box, note what the status light on top is doing after 4 mins of being powered ON.
