Hi guys,
I am looking to upgrade my chartplotter to a 1971f.
My sounder is a 1100 with 2kw low and high frequencies.
So I would be running this solely as a chartplotter unless I install another smaller kw transducer.
Is this over the top?
Just trying to get something that Will pair well.

Cheers

tyke123,

Depending on the frequency of the transducers that you are currently using for your FCV1100 (which is one of my favorite Fish Finders...), I would consider adding a Medium Frequency CHIRP Transducer to your GP1971F. Maybe using a B75M (80-130kHz), or the B175M (85-135kHz) which are both Medium Frequency Transducers.

You could even consider using a B175HW Transducer with a frequency range of 150 to 250 kHz and a fixed 25° beam used for all those frequencies, Providing you with constantly wide beam with twice the coverage that you typically don't get with most high-frequency, narrow-beam transducers, and providing you excellent fish arches.

Either way you decide, adding another transducer to your GP1971F just makes sense and provides you with another tool to help you with your fishing.
