1815 with PG500 Heading error

Hello,

After working for about a year, I am getting a heading error on my Furuno 1815 display. The heading sensor is a Furuno PG-500. What is the best way to troubleshoot this and determine the root cause? I don't have an extra cable or heading sensor.

Are you certain that nobody changed any settings on the 1815?
You can connect the data wires from the PG500 to a laptop running hyper terminal or something similar to see if the data is present.
What are the lights doing on top of the PG500?
You can run the diagnostic on the PG500. Starts on page five (digital page 12) of the PG500 operator's manual.

Thanks for that. I'll check the 1815 settings and run the PG500 diagnostics when I'm back at the boat next week.
