1723C not displaying target image

I have the RSB110-070 dome and RDP143 display. The display powers up and screen shows range rings, text, etc. All key functions work. Antenna rotates when transmit is selected. But no target image. Cable appears to be connected properly and power supply as well. Unit functioned correctly not long ago, only thing I changed was connecting power supply to a new breaker and bundling the too long cable to stow. The unit is stand alone and not connected to a network. What's going on? Thanks

Based on what you describe, I suspect the scanner cable. If you transmit the radar and turn off/down all the filtering and sea clutter, then turn you gain on Manual and maximum.. can you speckle your screen with noise or is the screen still blank? You don't get any errors or alarms correct?

If I do as you describe, the screen is blank apart from the range lines, etc. No scatter or image. I am not sure how to check for errors or alarms.

If you press the ALARM button it will show you any alarms. Normally will will also make sounds if someone hasn't turned off the alarm button. By the sound of it, the small coax wire within the scanner cable is broken that goes between the scanner and the display unit. That wires passes the radar video. You don't appear to be getting any.

Okay, yes, it does display an alarm. It beeps and says "No Position Data". Would that cause no target image? Thanks for the help.

Okay, so bad cable. Is there a particular model number for the cable I need? Do you think rolling the dice with a used cable is worth a try?

I would ohm out the one you have before taking that step. New cables are no longer available for that ~2002 radar. Raw cable and some items still are available new. Used cable might be okay but I still would not recommend anything be purchased until verified bad.

Will do, is there a way to identify which leads are for the coax that you think may be compromised?

Page S-1 of the installation manual has a full wiring diagram that shows the small coax video line as part of the overall cable wiring.

Is the Coax labelled "2C2V"? I don't see a diagram of the plug ends with numbers labelled. Are the numbers on the plugs themselves? Thanks

Fixed it! Pin 3 in the dome connector had backed out of the connector somehow. Snapped it back in and everything works great. Thanks for the help. Can you tell me how to shut off the audible alarm that goes off when the display discovers that there is no GPS hooked up? Thanks
