NavPilot 500 to NAVpilot-711C

Hi, I have a NavPilot 500 controller on my sailing yacht, the display is failing due to water ingress. The NavPilot 500 controller interfaces with the NAVpilot-511 processor / actuator driver unit.

Rather than replacing the NavPilot 500 with the same unit can I simply replace it with a new NAVpilot-711C, would this work?

To replace a NavPilot (NP) 500 with a NP 711C answer these questions then proceed accordingly.

Do I want to reuse the existing Rudder Reference Unit (RRU)?
Yes - Order the Navpilot 711C/OB. It will come without a RRU.
No- Order the Navpilot 711C. It will come with a RRU (FAP6112).

Do you want to reuse the existing heading sensor?
Yes - Order the Navpilot 711C system (per above) and have the dealer order "Less the PG-700".

The Pump or linear drive unit is compatible, if it worked with a 500 it will work with the 711C.

The packing list for the 2 options are attached.
