In summer 2021 I purchased a navionics unlock code for the eastern US lakes and coastal. Since the maps were preloaded, how do you get updates for these maps?

There won't be any more updates as Navionics discontinued selling these types of map data. You still hold licence to what you purchased and can continue using it. If you need to download the chart the download link is under your licence at mytimezero.com. You can always call support if you have problems getting to the download link. If you wish to have new released maps, you can pay the same price as you would have for an update to get the equivalent C-map area at discount. They call it a competitive upgrade. You would talk to your Furuno dealer and they should be able to set that up, if you wish to do that.

Will these maps still sync with MyTimeZero?
Maps do not sync or share. Each unit will need to have their own maps loaded. The unlock codes of the Furuno system is shared over the network so each networked MFD of that system can share the same license. If updating a map; each MFD chart card should be updated.
