XL13 hybrid control

Goodday guys, I have an XL13 on a small skiff boat and make use of the hybrid controls a lot. However, with the hybrid controls if i move the cursor to a waypoint that might be far away from my location i cant actually zoom into the area of the cursor. If i use the touch screen i just zoom in with my fingers, find the point touch and GOTO, So basically if im looking for a point with the cursor and roto key i cant actually zoom in to that cursor location in order to find the point i want to travel to. If i use the ROTO key to zoom in it only zooms the centre of the screen, not the cursor location. It becomes very difficult to GOTO with hybrid control. Am i missing something?

You are not missing anything. The ROTOkey operates like the +/- buttons on the screen.
If the vessel icon is inside the red circle that appears when panning the screen, the ROTOkey will zoom in or out on the vessel. If the vessel is not in the circle, it will zoom in to the cursor.
