Wireless remote for 711C ?

With the new Navpilot 300 out with the wireless remote, what are the chances we will see a wireless remote option for the 711C in the near future? We recently replaced an old Raymarine AP setup on a 53' vessel with the new 711C and the owner thought he wouldn't miss his old wireless remote but now finds himself wishing for one again. . .

regards,
Chris

Because the NP700 series hardware doesn't have a blue tooth transmitter/receiver, it isn't likely to see the remote being added to it.

No hope for an add on BT module eh? Any other thoughts on workarounds to have a wireless remote? The rest of the vessel electronics are Furuno and the thought of having to throw in a RM, Simrad, or Garmin AP just for a remote isn't appealing

TZTL15F - two each on the flybridge and lower helm. Guessing you're going to refer to the Furuno phone/tablet app for remote control? I tried the app about a year ago and was unimpressed with the delay between the app and the actual unit - has this changed at all?

Wireless Remote Control is a huge Thing missing. I also see no reason why blutooth connected directly to the AP should be neccessary. All it Needs is a small N2K RX unit . Or the WiFi Access Point of the TZTouch can be used.

An autopilot wireless remote controlles is a very important device for single-handed sailors!
If anyone finds a solution please post it here.
It looks like the FAP-7001 central unit and the 711c controllers do not like to interface with chart plotters (e.g. SIMRAD GO9) to allow external control of the autopilot... probably due to liability issues :-(

Why do you say that 711C does not like to interface with chartplotters? I have a 711C and it can be controlled by the TZT 3 and TZT 2 MFDs that I also have. At my lower helm I also have a 711C control head that I normally use for that but at the upper helm I use the TZT 2 display to control the autopilot.

If you mean interfacing with a non-Furuno MFD for full control of the autopilot, yes you are right. Bu that is true of all the manufacturers. Whether you have Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine, or Furuno, the autopilot can readily accept NAV data but can only be controlled by the same manufacturer's MFD.
