Wifi software update issues

When I check for the latest software trough my unit it's stating i have the latest version? However, I know I haven't loaded 3.01. Do all updates have to be done via card? If so, why show the option?

while most software patch updates can/will be performed utilizing the built-in Wi-Fi in the TZT2. However the newest v3.01 software includes the operating system (OS)as well and as such there would be great risk in performing this update using a Wi-Fi connection. This update should only be done utilizing the micro-SD card slot.

Because the numbers don't match from what the website has and what is in your machine. It makes the false assumption if it doesn't match then you must of the older software. In this case it doesn't match because you have newer software. ..Or in summary; lazy programming.

I like the honest response in your last sentence. I made an error in my response. I had the latest version before this one came out. When I did a search it told me it was up to date when it should have said I wasn't up to date and needed to upgrade. That I could deal with.BTW, lI like the updates in the software.

Furuno USA recommends watching this forum in the Furuno News for notices of software updates. Software is posted free of charge under the respective product page for download of the instructions and software.

My point is that when I'm on the unit and look to see if there is an update and connected to wifi it should state there is an update but I need to download it. Not state my software is up to date. If it doesn't what's the point of having that function on the unit.

CharlieP-
You have the latest software (3.01). Please read the entire thread for the explanation from Johnny Electron on the WiFi discrepancy.

So... is someone keeping a log of "known issues" (bugs) we can refer to? and maybe point Furuno Japan at the next time they are looking for a sprint review?

We can assure you that FEC in Japan pays attention to this forum.
Sometimes suggestions are implemented and sometimes they are not.

Hi Melville,
I'm sure FEC Japan are being hassled all the time :)
I was thinking also for our/your sanity so you don't have to keep answering the same questions, like an FAQ, but where other feedback from Furuno could also be given (e.g. under consideration, in development, rejected)
A good example of feature requests with feedback is the Microsoft UserVoice (https://feedback.azure.com/forums/34192 ... l-feedback)
Cheers...
