wider angle

I own FCV 587 with b260 transducer on my boat. Because there's less and less fish, we have to look for it when fishing. Because b260 has a very narrow angle (6/10) I got an idea to change a setup in FCV 587 and put one of sonde with wider angle. I want to know if with that setup I would really get a wide angle with the worse qualify and can that cause any damage to my FCV 587 and B260 transducer.

Thanks Ivan.

Ivancg,
The beam angle of a B-260 is 19 degree (50Khz) and 6 degree on (200Khz). If you are fishing in waters less than 200ft you might think about using a 600 watt transducer that has a roughly a 40/10 degree beam width. If you are fishing deeper you might think about the SS264W series. These are flushed transducers with about a 25 degree beam width.
