The Furuno NavPilot 300 is excellent choice for small boats with outboards, but the pump is often rated based upon the size of the steering rams. For example, for ram sizes less than 8 cubic Inches in volume you would use something like the 600cc Octopus 6-12 that pushes 0.6 cubic Inches per second.
