"Vessel speed is very slow" Error message on 711c

I have a sailboat with TZT2 Furuno MFD, 711c Navpilot and other B&G equipment/sensors. The paddle wheel boat speed sensor is currently dirty & stuck and an autopilot alarm message/beep comes up every few seconds on the 711c. See picture. I have to acknowledge it to clear the error message, which is very annoying after few times.

When I'm sailing, how can I stop the alarm (except for cleaning the paddle wheel) from coming up every few seconds?

When I check the 711c Alarm menu, the speed alarm is OFF. Is there any other setting that will turn off this error message?

Thank you.

It isn't an alarm, but rather an error message. See explanation of error.

If you remove the STW source from the Sensor Selection menu on the NAVpilot 711C and ensure that the SOG source is set to the GPS sensor on the boat, that should get rid of the error message until the paddlewheel is cleaned. Once cleaned, the STW source can be re-added in Sensor Selection menu.

I wish this „error message“ could be disengaged. To unselect speed alarm in setup menue has no effect… When sailing with vow winds and some current, stw sometimes is close to zero for some time, the alarm isnt neccessary and the workaround mentioned is not very user friendly.

As I said...it is not an alarm, so turning off any alarms will not prevent this error message. It cannot be disabled because the system is letting you know that there may be a problem with your paddle wheel speed sensor. You can either stop using STW (from paddle wheel) and just use SOG (from GPS) or you can manually set a fixed speed in the Parameter Setup menu with the Speed Calculation setting (set it to manual and . To get to that menu that is in the installation mode, press and hold the wrench button down and push the knob 3x quickly. Here's a screenshot from the installation manual

Thank you for the information.
What will the Manual Speed calculation do, except the obvious?

Also, I wish there was a way to permanently acknowledge the error message as its few seconds frequency is VERY annoying.

It controls how much rudder input there is. At higher speeds, less rudder input is needed. At lower speeds, more rudder input is needed.

Autopilots aren't designed to be used at very slow speeds...I think you said 1kt or less. Think about cars' cruise control...it can't even be engaged in most cases at less than 5 or 10 mph. Similar type of scenario...
