Upgrading TZTouch2 to NavnetXL question

I’m updating my TZTouch2 to a TZT13XL and will need a new transducer. The in-hull transducer is appealing to me. I wanted to check with the experts if the Airmar M265LM will work well with the TZT13X. I mostly fish for Tuna and Stripers in the Northeast in 100-700ft of water. Do I also need a DFF3 black box?

Thw DFF3 is no longer. The replacement DFF3-UHD is not made for 1kw transducers like you mention. Best bet is to hook it up to the tzt13x directly. Perhaps check the tzt13x manual to make sure it's listed as compatible.

The in-hull transducers will work, but the thru-hull or transom mount versions will work best because they are in direct contact with the water. Thank you. I'm going with the through-hull B275LHW-12P. What is the purpose of the DFF3-UHD? Is it needed, or can I hook the TZtouch XL directly to the transducer?

The B275LHW-12P doesn't require the DFF3-UHD...just plugs directly into the TZT13X. The DFF3-UHD is to connect a 2 or 3kW transducer to get full power because the TZT13X max power is 1kW.
