We've recently installed a new TZTL15F (updated to v3.01) and our customer would like to know if he will be able to use Coastal Explorer planning software on a PC and have it interface to the TZTouch2.
1. Is the MFD compatible with this software (gps, ais, transducer data etc back and forth)?
2. If so, then what is the preferred interface? N2K to USB gateway, WiFi, ethernet?

Thank You

You can export routes to a thumb drive, various formats are supported CSV, KML and GPX from memory. There is also a TMZ proprietary format that works with TZ Navigator. I've used GPX quite successfully to exchange data back and forth to Nuno Navigator.

Allegedly if you buy the Radar Module for TZ Navigator PC Application you can share routes with the TZT2, but I have yet to make that work!

Cheers...

The Nobeltec navigation software products have supported interfaces to the TZT2.

Having used both Coastal Explorer and Nobeltec offerings I can say that the latter wins hands down from a functionality perspective.

The customer called Rose Point Navigation and they said it would work. I put in the Rose Point N2K gateway and the customer said he was getting data to his computer.
I haven't had time to check any of this but he seemed ok with how it was interfacing.

They can use NMEA data but not see a radar image or sounder image. It depends on the definition of integration. MaxSea and Nobeltec are the only products that can integrate directly to the Furuno Ethernet network. Glad you got it figured out.
