TZTouch2 15 With Airmar M260

Greetings all. First time poster here.

I'm currently running a NavNet 3D and FCV 620. When I got this boat (new to me) It had a thru hull triducer (can't recall the part number) and an M260 in hull transducer.

For some reason I could only get the speed and temp to work on the triducer through the 620. So I connected the M260 to the 620, and even though it's a 600 watt unit, I was getting good bottom up to about 40 mph.

Now I'm looking to update the chartplotter and I have my eye on the TZTouch2 15" model. My question is, will the M260 integrate well with the TZT2? What are the issues I might face particularly with the RezBoost technology. I've heard there could be an issue with the M260 and RezBoost. If this is true, is there a work around for it or some manual configuring that would need to be done?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rolle,

First I would like to welcome you to the Furuno USA forum.

The M260 will not enable the RezBoost feature on TZT2. The M260 can connect to the TZT2 and get normal fish finder capabilities, if you had it connected to a FCV620 (both units use Furuno 10pin transducer plugs).

There is no work around to enable RezBoost except to replace the transducer with a capable RezBoost transducer.

I can provide you a list of transducer if you would like?

Thank you for the super fast reply. Will any of the RezBoost enabled transducers fit in the same mounting box that the M260 currently sits in?

Unfortunately, that is a disadvantage of an in-hull transducer. In-hull transducers will not enable RezBoost or bottom discrimination because of the power being lost shooting through the hull of the boat.

Thanks for clearing this up. I would appreciate a list of the transducers that do work with RezBoost so I can look at my options.
