I have a mint TZtouch 2 I purchased back in 2015 that I used on my charter boat for a year and a half and then started working in a different occupation .I removed the unit and parked it on a shelf at home in a closet. Recently I decided to build out another boat and use the unit again this year on a smaller but faster vessel. I am using the below listed Furuno Products. I am running the 2.01 software on the TZtouch2 and I’m trying to update to the 8.01. My unit has the internal sounder and I saw that there was a second USB install for that model. I have tried to update both ways using the SD card and the USB using the files advised for each respectively. I followed the directions for each precisely. My unit fails to boot up either way. I keep getting the old 2.01 version no matter what I do. Is there a service procedure to flash or update another way? I’m a diehard Furuno guy and have never had anything but love for my Furuno gear , please help! I also saw a update for all the sensors that would be nice to do as well.
I also have strapped on a pair of 300hp V8 Mercury Verado’s. Im trying to figure the best way to integrate the Autopilot I have for them. Any Guidance would be awesome.
