TZTL12F not processing PGN129809

While listed under inout side PGNs, 129809 does not seem to get processed. The result is, that type B AIS targets will never show up with their name, but just display the MMSI.

Type B static sentence (AIS Msg 24) is translated into the N2000 PGNs 129809 and 129810.
129809 contains just the name and MMSI, so that a MSSI can be matched to a vessel name. 129810 contains the other static elements like dimensions of vessel, all sign GPS location. These data show up properly on the TZTL12F.

My Monitor shows all data to be properly on the backbone.
The system version of the TZTL12F is listed as 5.01

On the data source page no AIS PGNs are shown, so I suppose that you cannot select a source for these, but in my case there is just one AIS feed.

Any ideas?

Your software is older. Current release software is 5.03. You should talk directly to your distributor because there is also a beta software that will deal with AIS better for the TZT2. Sometimes the AIS class B names won't show up in very congested areas because Class A and the other target info have higher priority. Class B also doesn't transmit as often as class A. At least if the target is showing with the MMSI; it won't easily go unnoticed. I believe Japan is still looking into reported issues of some boat names not reflecting and it should improve with newer versions. I would start by loading the newest official software available.

Thanks for your thoughts. On Software version it shows 5.01 for System and 5.03 for App. Not sure if that's the latest. Been reading about version 6.0 and 6.1 but couldn't locate it.

AIS not very congested were I am right now around Madeira island, about 10 targets each, class A and class B.

Still couldn't figure out what is going on. NMEA 2000 Analyser shows the proper sentences on the backbone and MaxSea picks it up with no problem. The original info comes from an easyTRX AIS transponder in N0183 format, sending out a seemingly correct VDM sentence for AIS Msg 24. An Actisense gateway converts this into the two N2k PGNs: 129809 (part A containing the name) and 129810 (part B containing, boat dimension, antenna position and call sign).

The TZTL12F seems to pick up second part just fine, and I can see all static data which come with part B but the names that come with part A.

I have looked at the raw data of both PGNs and cannot find anything wrong or special with it.

I wonder if this is a general problem with TZt2, or can anybody confirm to have this function working on a similar unit.

Thanks

It sounds like you have version 5.03. 6.01 software release has been temporarily delayed. We had hoped to have it released soon. I will PM you some questions and hopefully resolve the issue.
