TZTL12F and TZT9 Data Source Syncronization

Edited to correct terminology to "Data source"

When I'm running both MFD's, which is the standard practice, and when selecting the data source for "Depth" and "SST", the moment I choose the source it's instantly changed on the other MFD. This makes sense for many sources, but makes no sense for some sources, especially for Depth and SST since so many boaters that fish have two transducers.

I want to display the DFF3D on the TZT12F along with its Depth and SST, and I want to display the DFF1 on the TZT9 along with its Depth and SST. Seems like a very reasonable expectation. Am I just missing something in the setup or configuration?

For depth, the sounder depth is shown on the sounder screen and the numbers running up the side of the screen (for the sounder you are looking at). Your depth source in your databox can be something complete different (based on your sensor selection settings). This said you can see both depths at the same time. Another way is If both displays are near, you can see each depth reading and side numbers without a data box.

Temp would be the only one you must pick one source and not see the other. (yet you can change the source in the menu rather quickly if you need to switch) With that said, the water temp under you boat between transducers is most likely very close. Any difference would most likely be more the result of temp calibration than anything else. The system isn't designed to show two temps at the same time. It can be done but other units (like FI70) and sensors might be needed.

I had almost the same question a couple of weeks ago.
I wanted to show each transducer depth/temp on the unit it was plugged into. Unless you unplug the ethernet link it cannot be done. You cannot use 2 temps sensors on 2 different displays, that is nuts. You also cannot ask one unit to display GPS and the other to show Loran, also nuts. Any "units of measure" you make on one automatically changes every unit in your network. Any changes to "data source" on one unit and it also will change every display in your network.
Maybe if it asked enough they will change it in a software update.

OK, understood, and I kinda side with buckshot here in that it would be nice to set different data sources on different MFD's. Is this something in consideration or is it low or non-existent on the software development priority list?

And yes, I could jump back to the menu and keep making the data source switch, but this is not how fisherman operate when they are watching the sonar closely, especially as you mark a bait school or bottom structure and are running the boat as well. There is a lot going on within 10-15 seconds at times and breaking away to change settings is just not going to happen. Having a data box with the other data you need is ideal.

Display of two temp sources within the same network isn't currently supported, but I will pass your request to product development.

That sounds good Johnny. Thank you!
