TZT3 update PBG can go without DFF3D?

Hi all,
Heard rumors that Furuno will relese end of year update for TZT3, which allow PBG to start mapping without DFF3D?

Tehnican installer (not Furuno dealer) installing DFF3D with B54 multibeam transducer talk that update should be already relesed.

Just wana check is that true?

That will be pretty nice punch for all other brands...

We don't discuss or speculate on pre release information that hasn't been shared with dealers, true or untrue. Nobeltec/MaxSea can use single beam spot sounders to do PBG without the DFF3D, now. I doubt what he said is true because single beam would not provide much ground coverage and it add a lot of load to the CPU.

Garmin MFDs costing much less than TZT3 have been doing this with no problem for many years, not sure why it would be a problem for the TZT3 CPU. It is very helpful to be able to be able to fill in missing map detail.

Manufacturers do things differently and some have features that others don't. Furuno offers avantages they don't as well. Customers have the freedom to buy what they feel fits their needs. I disagree on the costs of equivalent systems being being "much" less. We are not going into axe grinding and he said/she said here. Those conversations can be taken to the many forums elsewhere. We focus on helping each other with questions and while not always liking the answer, everyone works hard to provide them.
