TZT2 fishfinder questions

Good morning Jagsare1,

The paragraph that you are referring to
Master Reset.JPG

Yes, you will want to perform a master reset. The link below will direct you to a site to download the Master Reset instructions.

It would be best to save all your marks, tracks, user settings etc before you perform the software upgrade as it mentions in the the software upgrade procedure.

Kind Regards,

I am absolutely regretting this. Every Furuno FF I have had worked perfect. The 585 that I used for 10 years worked perfect. You know how many updates I had to do? You already know.....NONE. Now, it is update after update and it doesn't work. Now I have to do a Master Reset and wipe the system clean. I simply don't get it.

Hello Jagsare1,

been re-reading your post and from your first post it seems the symptoms you describe are typical for a wrongly matched transducer. You talk about a 1kW transducer which I think would come together with a matching box and I think you have to select that specific transducer in the transducer setup menu of the TZT2. The default will probably be something else, like a 600W direct connected transducer.

Just a guess

Harald

I installed a TZT2 and a DFF3D a little over a year ago. I could not get the transducer to display the bottom on 3 of the 4 modes. I was convinced I had a bad transducer. I spent multiple days/hours on the phone with tech support. Very frustrating. The master reset was the answer. A simple procedure with instant results. I wished I had done it when I updated the software. I hope this works for you!

The correct transducer is selected.

I will do the master reset. A bit of the frustration is that I have been spending more time on someone elses boat and not mine so I haven't put it in the water to test and work on the issue. This other boat I fish on has the same MFD. This past weekend, we turned the zoom on and it took about 15 minutes for the zoom portion to find bottom. The other part of the FF was fine. I'll update when possible.

The link says I do not have access to that page. Also searched for "Tech Tips" and cannot find anything like that on the Furuno USA web page.....which is terrible by the way. It appears to have completely changed recently.

Is this the correct instructions? I have been everywhere on the Furuno website and cannot find anything. The links in this thread are incorrect.

The link works for me. The instructions you found should work fine for you. The other is just a newer version that looks nicer with the same information.

Thanks for the confirmation. That link definitely didn't work. I just tried it a few minutes ago and it works fine but previously, it said I did not have access to the page.

Got to get the boat to the water. Max depth where I was was 30 feet. On plane, I was losing bottom. Never, ever did that with the 585.

I performed the master reset and have not touched any settings since then so assume they are back to factory specs. Earlier in this thread, there was a suggestion on a setting to try and help with losing digital depth and I will do that again but I am completely losing bottom in shallow water now. Since I use this machine from inshore to 3000', I am concerned about losing bottom in 30 feet(I was running 30 knots but again, it has never done that when connected to the 585).

What other settings need adjusting or fixing?

Good everning Jagsare1,

Please provide a photo of the fishfinder screen when the vessel is up on plane?

We need to be able to see what you are looking at.

The Bottom Level HF and LF are the only adjustments that can affect the digital bottom depth.
