TZT2 FF stops moving/frozen

I continue to have challenges with the TZT2 as a FF. I used a Furuno 585 forever and loved it. The transducer is a 1KW tilted element. After removing the 585 and attaching the transducer to the TZT2, simply, the FF doesn't perform as well. The issue I am encountering now is that when I am deep dropping in depths of approx 1000 ft, it appears the screen is frozen. I don't think it is actually frozen as much as it just isn't moving. The effect of this is that I don't have a FF when I need it most. Due to the distance to 1000 ft, it is impossible to call tech support when this is happening.

The speed of the screen appears to change with boat speed. So when we are moving very slowly or drifting, the screen pretty much stops moving. Any idea how I can try to remedy this? Thanks.

Good afternoon Jagsare1,

Thank you for your inquiry.

First thing to do is hit the "home button"

Next choose "settings"

Scroll down to "sounder"

Please confirm the following settings:

Transmit Rate Auto: What does it say? On/off

If Transmit Rate Auto is set to "off" what is the manual transmit rate number?

I'll look but it is obviously set to ON or it wouldn't work at all. As I mentioned, the scroll rate changes with the speed of the boat which I hate and when I am drifting a spot, it virtually stops scrolling at all.

Thank you for confirming.

The Transmit Rate Auto does not control the main sounder transmit on/off. The Transmit Rate Auto controls speed on the transmit rate and whether it is set to manual or auto. We recommend setting the Transmit Rate Auto to "off" which means it is a manual control and set the manual transmit rate to 20.
