I connected the power in correctly is there a diode in line to keep dummya like me from destroying equiptment,I connected the positive to the negative and negative to the positive and I corrected my error and It still does not light up?
Regards Dale
With just the white (+) and black (-) wires connected on the power cable it should power on. If it isn't, check the inline fuse of the power cable and the breaker on the boat as one might have popped/blown.

Thanks for the reply,I have power at the connector, with proper polarity ,but as I stated at the beginig of the thread,I reversed polarity,oh stupid me....is there a diode across the power input to protect a reverse polarity ?
Regards Dale
If the fuse or breaker didn't pop and protect it, then the rectifying diode has likely been burnt on the circuit board and would need to have a qualified technician repair it. Don't forget to check or replace the fuse and reset any breakers before moving to the more complex.
