TZMAP vs FCV 800

I’m thinking of adding one of these. I currently have a TZT12F with m265LH transducer, radar, and auto pilot. I also have the bbds 50/200 box, transducer, and a side scan transducer that is not currently being used. I removed the sidescan for the m265LH transducer.

I’d like to be able to use the side scan again and wondering the best way to go. I’m leaning toward the TZMAP as I’m thinking it gives me more options, but wondering if there are advantages to the dedicated FCV 800 fish finder.

The FCV800 would be the only one (over the TZMAP) that would utilize the M265LH. The TZMAP only allows single-band chirp. If you wanted to use your TZT12F and get a TZTE, you could use dual-band chirp on one and side-scan on the other.

I was thinking using the sidescan on the TZTMAP, and leaving the m265LH on the tzt12 f. Or using the m265LH with the FCV800 and sidescan on the TZT12f.

Im not sure what I would gain going with the TZTE.

Yes, you could do that. The TZMap will be a stand-alone unit, not networkable to the TZT12F if that's what you want.

If you like a vertical display and real buttons, the fcv800 will be nicer. Even though it's an 8.4" display, it will be heightwise mid-way between the tzt13x and 16x.
