Hi and good health to anyone,

For so long my Furuno 587 has been having a screen-flashing problem, still working, but darker than original. Because I am in South America, I am going to try to have it fixed locally with a relative of mine that is an electronical specialist (he usually fixes all king of smart TV screens, etc, but never touch in a fish finder). He would like to know what type of led the 587 has. Normal led (change each one separately), nanoled (change a row of leds), or Oled (change all the leds by once)? Anyone knows that? Is there a possibility to buy and change the leds?

Thank you in advance, Dan

I already created the same topic before, but in a wrong place (in "NavNet TZtouch3"). Please delete it and let this one in "Fish Finders & Sonars" alive. Thank you.

What I can tell you is that it’s a ribbon cable with a row of individual square (surface mount) led’s soldered along the ribbon cable; one on each side.

Thank you Johnny !

Do you know if it is able to buy led parts and change each individual square led or just all the ribbon row defective? Or maybe all the complete led-screen at once? Is Furuno os someone else selling led parts?

Dan

Furuno does not sell the LED or the strips. Furuno sells the bonded LCD assembly that include --the backlighting. (pn - 001-191-920-00) It can be ordered from your local Furuno dealer.
