Trip fuel used

From what I have read Furuno have not added the fuel burn per trip into their software as of yet. Any idea if this is in the works in a future software update? I did not know this when I purchased my Furuno system, just assumed it would be. Crazy it’s not an option. Please correct me if I am wrong!

I asked about this a couple of years ago. It's such an easy and obvious thing to do since the data is already present from the manual fuel management display of how much fuel is on board. It would take very little programming to use the consumption data that is updating the remaining fuel level to create a trip fuel data box.

For me it is more of an inconvenience since my engine gauges have a resettable fuel consumption display that provides this data, though I have to add the two numbers together for the total or just multiply by two since they are usually within 1-2%. Of course it is also not that hard on a long trip to make note of the start value in the manual fuel management data box at the beginning of a trip and calculate fuel subtracting the value at the end of the trip.

I agree it’s such an easy add on. All the data is there they just need to configure it. It used it a lot with my old system. Sure is nice to know what you burned for the day.

I agree with the statements above. It is a necessity to have accurate fuel tracking. Navico has an extensive nmea source selection/ fuel burn management suite. I'd love to program my XL 24s to display that information.

I agree especially since their competitors have this option. My boat originally never had a fuel gauge but had flo scans that were very accurate to the gallon. I knew exactly what I burned and knew what I had left. It is a great resource to have on a boat. For example I took some buddies fishing the other day. They wanted to know what I burned so they could pay their share in fuel. I had to guess what we burned.
