Transducer Setup

I purchased my TZT 14 and just had it installed on my boat. I have the DFF1 and an Airmar Transducer, 525TID-TMD. When I go into the Transducer setup there are no specific transducers to select from or should I just go with manual selection. Secondly, i have added the numeric depth to my Data Box however nothing shows up identifying the depth but the transducer is reading the bottom on the depth bar. Any suggestions would be helpful to correct these. It should be noted that I have performed the latest software update as my unit was purchased before the June update. For any of you who have twin engine, what is the preferred location for the transom mount transducer, namely in the middle or off to the side of one engine?

Yes, if the model of your transducer is not shown or it doesn't say TID; then you should select MANUAL and then configure the freq and power settings for the connected transducer.

It sounds like your depth source setting isn't setup correctly. Ensure the sounder shows good bottom and has depth on the sounder screen; then ensure the sounder is properly selected as your depth source under MENU - INITAL SETUP - SENSOR LIST

If that doesn't work, then I suggest backing up your settings/points and conduct a factory reset since you just upgraded your software.

You might also put your question about transducer location under the Fishfinder/Sounder area. That area is more focused and might result in a better response.

What would I be looking for in the Sensor list, something specific? It sees my radar, my dffi1 and my gps. Under the transducer selection I get manual, td-id and another option. The depth seems to be reading better today in the digital box. Seems to disappear when i get into deeper water and comes back when i get shallower.

Is there a way also to increase the size of the numbers along the side of the screen with the depth range?

Sorry, I provided the wrong menu path. You should check what the depth source is under MENU - INITAL SETUP - DATA SOURCES.

Your transducer should be set to TID.

The font at the right side of the sounder screen is not adjustable.
