Transducer not showing after V7 upgrade

Hi,

I upgraded my TZTL12F to V7 and did the sounder reset as well as a master hardware reset. When I did the transducer reset, the transducer disappeared from the list of models. The transducer is an Airmar B175H. It showed up in the model list prior to the reset. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I think you are mistaken about it being in the older software. The TZT2 sounder is and has always been a 50/200 fixed freq fishfinder. The B175H is a CHRIP transducer. While someone might have set it for a 50/200 model and ran it only at HF to have it work; there isn't, nor was there ever a B175H setting in the software on the TZT2 units. You can always downgrade the software to see for yourself.

Ok, that's entirely possible.

Does the the TZT16F support two transducers? I have a B175HW connected to that, could I also connect the B175H to that? Or would I need another device to bridge them?

Thanks

Ok,awesome, thanks!

Will the TZTL12F be able to read and display Sonar data from the TZT16LF via the network then if I have both transducers connected via the Y cable to the 16?

This is a follow up question regarding the B175HW transducer and the TZTL12F Display -

I have just completed installation of the B175HW transducer and DDF1-UHD into my dual TZTL12F display setup. The displays are running v7.01 software. Should I be able to select the B175HW from the list of transducer options? I have the DDF1-UHD selected as the sounder module.

Yes, as long as it has v7 software or better.

The UHD sounder is designed to support both high and low freqs and has no software setup for single freq transducers.

Those are both high frequency transducers. While you can connect a pair to the TZT 16F with a Y cable or spliced pigtail cabe, it has to be one high and one low. So you cannot connect the B175H and B175HW to a single TZT16F unless you tried to wire in an external transducer switch. Airmar used to supply those but I haven't seen one for a long time.

Unless you have two TZT16F MFDs, that means you will have to run one transducer with your TZT2 in conventional singe frequency 200Hz mode and the other in CHIRP mode with the TZT 3. If I were in that situation, I would use the TZT3 for the B175HW which I think would benefit more from CHIRP.

Johnny,

I don't fully understand your response. It is my understanding that the B175C-HW is chirp ready, and transmits the range between 150 and 250 Khz. Isn't the DDF1-UHD setup to handle that? I currently have manually selected the B285hw model from the list at setup. It seems I would need to tweek the setup from there.

While your question relates slightly, I worry the OP might not like having his thread hijacked. If more discussions are needed, I recommend opening your own topic. The TZT3 when not running the DI-FFAMP is a normally single freq CHIRP sounder or dual freq 50/200 (unless running v2 and using Y cable). It is not the same as the DFF1-UHD. The DFF1 is a DUAL freq CHIRP sounder only. Normally if used, you connect up and use both frequencies. To only connect up one is much like connecting up one speaker to a stereo (two channel) system. The TZT3 is made to support single freq CHIRP, the UHD is not. While it might be possible, proper termination of the unused channel may be necessary or damage may occur. The DFF1-UHD does not have a transducer setup choice for the single freq B175C-HW. The TZT3 does.

Hijack away :)

On a similar track, could I use the DDF1-UHD to enable Chirp dual freq use of the B175H with the TZTL12F?

The UHD sounder was designed to use both HF and LF channels. If you are connecting only the HF side we advise you to add a 100 ohm-10 watt loading resistor across the LF side (pins 1 & 4). Note when you are using only one frequency, neither ACCU_FISH or the Bottom Discrimination Mode are available. The B-175 will not appear in the sounders transducer set-up menu so you will need to select a B-275. Do not connect the Orange TID wire.

Actually, never mind, I just read the previous post that the UHD is intended for dual freq use only.

So, if I keep the B175H connected to the TZT2, I should be able to configure it as a regular 50-200K non chirp ducer and use it that way? Any recommendations on how best to use it this way in conjunction with the B175HW also being connected to the TZt3 unit?

My original goal was to use the HW for finding fish in the column while trolling or to also help locate fish near structure and use the H unit to zero in on the structure.
