Transducer for TZT2

Hi I am in the process of getting electronics for my new boat. I am going with the TZT2 12. What transducer would you recommend. I am primarily fishing for sailfish, tuna and marlin from 30m to 500m+. The boat is 30ft with a stepped hull. I am looking at a flush through hull transducer as its a trailer boat.

Thanks
Brandon

Omanfisher,
I would look at using a pair 264's as there are not a lot of options available.

Thanks for the reply Snips.

On the Furuno website it says the SS264W-200/20 is no longer available. Are there any decent inhull transducers that you would suggest to pair with the TZTL for my type of fishing?

Omanfisher,
Sorry there is not a lot of options for a 30 knot/trailer vessel that has a stepped hull. You may want to think about going with two transducers, one for running and one that is pole mounted for fishing.

Hi Snips,
I have been suggested a M260 inhull as thats all they have in Dubai(where the boat is being built). How would I connect a temperature sensor to that.

Thanks
Brandon

Omanfisher,
That is an option, but a doubt you will get the performance you are looking for. Do other vessels in your area use the M-260 for deep dropping?

I think I would favor a wet faced transducer on a pole, TM260B-MM with a MM1-DST-10F adapter cable.

Snips,
I dont think anyone has even deep dropped in Oman before. There are very little boats where I am let alone game boats. I have found a ss264W 200khz. Would just the 200khz be ok for general bluewater fishing, looking for bait and pelagics. At this time I am not really interested in deep dropping. Its mainly for sailfish, tuna and marlin.

Also a guy at the shop suggested the B175HW but just run it at 200khz on the tzt2. What is your opinion an that?

Omanfisher,
I would favor the SS-264W over the B-175HW. The SS-264W should have a short pigtail to connect to a SS-264 50Khz which I would also recommend getting.

Hi Snips
It looks like the shop was wrong when they said they had the ss264W 200khz in stock.
I just want to find out if i can drive the B-175HW in 200khz with the tzt2

Omanfisher,
We have not tested the B-175HW with the TZT2. It probably will work for shallow water fishing if you attached a 10-pin plug to the end of the cable.
